The title of the organization is “NAVJEEVAN” It means rebirth in the Indian mythology.
Yes, it is true in many senses that the major part of the Indian rural community still is in the awe of rebirth. It is still in the waiting of water and sanitation, education and environment, gender equality and employment. In many of these facets of demands Navjeevan Gramoday Pratisthan an NGO registered in 1994 has started its means with missionary zeal and sharpened vision. In the area of Ahmednagar of Maharashtra which is in generally known as the most irrigated and sugar factory loaded district, unfortunately is also the district of unemployment and water scarcity. In the villages of this district the organization has started its activity right from Self help Group to orphanage and from orphanage to watershed development. With the support of Nabard and Indo German organization Navjeevan Gramoday Pratisthan has shown its results of work in the villages like Devala from Aundha block of Solapur where the organization have completed the treatments of water conservation like, CCT, tree plantation, rain fed and irrigated horticulture, Loose bolder structure, Small dams, Net dams, K.T. Wear Dams, water soaking trenches, etc. this is also done in the spirit of Shramdan a concept given by our father of the nation Mahatma Gandhi. Like this the work of the organization is running in the villages of Ahmednagar district and other parts of Maharashtra.
Right from education to human rights and environment protection to natural resource management the team of the Navjeeven Gramodaya Pratisthan has tried its efforts towards the sustainable development by keeping the rural poor at the centre.
